Erasmus+ funding has been awarded tothe University of开云体育app客服to领导一个项目支持higher education reformin Georgia.开云体育app客服will work withIlia State University(ISU), which is basedin Georgia’s capital,Tbilisito support initiativesfocusedoncurriculum modernisation and internationalisation.

Kent’sSchool of Englishdeveloped a relationship with ISU throughresearch in the field of comparative literature. This connection developedintowidercollaborationassessingthe nature and durability of the effects ofhigher educationalreforms in society.Professor BelaTsipuriawho was formerly the Georgian Deputy Minister of Education and Science, leads the project on ISU’s side.

Funding will also support students from Georgia to study for a term at Kent.

The project reinforces Kent’slinks in a key region for research collaborationas well as itsengagement with the European Higher Education Area.Furthermore, the Erasmus+ project demonstrates the importance of the humanities inthe evaluation of societal reforms.

Professor David Ayers,Professor of Modernism and Critical Theory in the School of English andKent’s academic lead for the project,shares his views on the partnership:
